Centre Manager - Algester World of Learning

My approach to children’s learning is a gentle and flexible approach.”

I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2008 and started working at Algester World of Learning in 2008 for 8 years and then spent time at another G8 Education centre until my return to Algester World of Learning in early 2021. I hold a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

In 2008, I commenced as a trainee assistant educator and have worked throughout all the different positions in the industry up to Centre Manager.

Many people influence a child’s learning and development. All children have in-built curiosity and potential, our job is to both nurture and help children develop by exploring the world in which they live.

My approach to children’s learning is a gentle and flexible approach. Children learn and develop at individual stages and developments. Through play-based learning, scaffolding and reflecting we are able to provide a holistic educational journey for all children at our centre.

Our team is extremely passionate about creating a centre that is a home away from home for both families and children where our team celebrates diversity of all cultures. We are fortunate to have educators who speak a variety of languages including Mandarin, Cantonese and Hindi, to name just a few. The centre really is an extension of the home environment, and we work in partnership with families to ensure this is the case, understanding each child’s individual needs.

We have long-serving, multicultural team members who reflect our local community. Many have been with the centre for over 5 years. It is the sort of centre where everyone knows all the children, no matter which room they are in. We are such a close-knit team it feels like one big family.

With many of our team having children of their own, we have all been or are going through the process of childcare and early learning – we are proud to offer support where possible - from helping our families to enrol, applying for the Child Care Subsidy or even tips to help with fussy eaters. We are here to help.

We understand that starting at a new centre can be overwhelming and that is why from the very first enquiry, we make sure that we address all your questions one by one. We walk families through all the forms and administration that need to be done, this includes enrolment forms, Child Care Subsidy (CCS), explaining subsidies, government caps, centre schedules, our centre menu and more.
