“I am committed to helping children on their learning journey, educating them in various areas such as art, movement, cognitive skills, self-help, and communication.”

I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2010 and joined Nottingham World of Learning in 2018. Since I joined the centre, I have progressed from Lead Educator to Educational Leader, Assistant Centre Manager, and now Centre Manager. I have always been passionate about early childhood education. I am committed to helping children on their learning journey, educating them in various areas such as art, movement, cognitive skills, self-help, and communication.

In a dedicated early learning environment, children have the opportunity to be independent, self-regulate, learn resilience, and develop social and language skills. They explore and grow with the guidance of qualified early childhood educators and teachers who are trained to develop the essential skills needed for their future. Our team at Nottingham is dedicated and diverse, reflecting our local community. Long-serving and multicultural, our team members greet you with a smile, ensuring your child is in caring hands.

We support our families by maintaining open communication, greeting them with a happy team, and using our Xplor Home app to update them on their child’s day. We respect our families’ cultural needs and ensure consistency in their children’s routines. Families are encouraged to be involved in centre decisions, events, and their child’s learning journey.

I look forward to welcoming your family into our wonderful early education centre in Calamvale.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Calamvale, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

Our herb and vegetable gardens are maintained and harvested by the children, and the produce is used in our fresh, onsite-cooked menu. We also use leftover water to nourish our gardens and welcome recycled materials to integrate into our curriculums and activities.

Community engagement

We welcome special guests and community members in Calamvale to our centre based on the children’s interests, enriching their learning experience. Our kindergarten children visit local schools regularly to help prepare them for their transition to school.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

Exploration and problem solving

Educators introduce open-ended materials and invitations to explore, such as building, measuring and experimenting. Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

My son joined them in 2024, shortly after we migrated to Australia. As a newcomer, he found it quite challenging to adjust at first, but the educators here were incredibly patient and gave him the time and space he needed to settle in. The team is highly experienced and truly takes the heart to understand each child's unique personality and habits. We love the regular updates via the app, which keep us well-informed about his daily activities and care. A special shout-out to Ms. Vivian, Ms. Nichole, and Ms. Chantelle—thanks to your dedication, my son had a fantastic and joyful Kindy year. I also want to express my gratitude to Ms. Kristyn and the management team. They are extremely professional and approachable. Being new to the country, we were quite unfamiliar with the Australian childcare system and CCS processes. Kristyn was always patient, providing detailed explanations and responding to our queries promptly. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our child was in such supportive hands. Highly recommend!

After changing 3 child care centres in 4 weeks, we were recommended by one of them to go to Nottingham World of Learning. Our first child started her journey in 2020 and loved it since day one, so did our 2nd child and 3rd child……today, our 4th child is also attending Nottingham Wolrd of Learning and is the happiest kid. Throughout these 6 years we have experienced the highest level of care that only the exceptional staff at this centre can provide, with respect, love and inclusion, making the children and the parents happy, every drop off, pick up, and every moment in between with pictures and updates. It's a safe and healthy place for the children, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new start. Thanks Kristyn and the team to always go above and beyond, love you all.

See more My daughter has been attending Nottingham World of Learning since she was 2.5 years old and she is 4 year old now. Like many children, she found the transition difficult at first and cried during drop-offs. The educators were incredibly patient, caring, and supportive during this time, which gave us a lot of confidence as parents.Over time, she settled in beautifully, and now she loves going to childcare to play with her friends. She is happy, confident and clearly feel safe and comfortable. The staffs and manager are loving , attentive and caring. The environment is well set up, stimulating and organised too. We are very grateful for the care and support they have given to our daughter and would highly recommend this centre to families around this area.

See more I am writing this review from the bottom of my heart to express how grateful I am for the care my 2-year-old son has received at Nottingham World of Learning. As a first-time mum with no experience in choosing the right daycare, I was initially attracted to centres with new facilities and a “fancy” look—like many parents are. Unfortunately, my son did not receive the level of care he needed before, as the staff were often too busy. As a result, he became sick with RSV and Flu B within his first week. That experience made me realise how important proper staff-to-child ratios are, so educators can truly care for each child without feeling overwhelmed. I also learned that the size of the classroom matters just as much. Even when the ratio meets regulations, having up to 20 toddlers in one room can still feel overwhelming for both children and educators. In my experience, this is simply too much for such young children who need close attention and emotional support. Since coming to Nottingham World of Learning, everything has changed. The educators genuinely know my son, remember his needs, and care about him as an individual. They are very attentive to hygiene, especially washing his hands regularly, which has significantly reduced how often he gets sick. I no longer feel anxious about sending him to daycare. Every day is a happy day for him here. I receive regular updates about his routine and learning milestones, and I truly appreciate that they have a proper learning plan for him. It’s not just free play until pick-up time—he is engaged in meaningful and fun learning activities every day. I am so thankful for the love, professionalism, and dedication of the team. Choosing Nottingham World of Learning has been one of the best decisions for my son and our family. Highly recommended.

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

World of Learning uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, World of Learning is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
