Harmony Garden, chickens and outdoor play

Three open outdoor areas give children space to ride, climb, dig and explore. The Harmony Garden includes vegetables and chickens, while the bike track, forts and fairy garden add different places for active play, imaginative games and quieter discovery.

####
Open indoor spaces for all-weather learning

Inside, large open areas give children room to explore, create and work alongside friends. Quiet spaces are available for rest and calmer moments, and the rooms are set up so play and learning can continue comfortably in all kinds of weather.

####
Stable team with low turnover

Our long-standing team brings between 5 and [30 years of experience](https://g8education.edu.au/news/plympton-educator-30-years-milestone). This stability means children see familiar faces each day, while families can build trusted relationships with educators who know their child well.

####
Preschool program led by qualified teachers

Our preschool program is delivered by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. Children build confidence for school through play, group learning, friendships, routines and opportunities to practise independence across the day.

####
Learning tailored to each child

Educators create each child’s Individual Learning Plan in partnership with families, drawing on their strengths, interests and stage of development. These plans help shape everyday experiences and give families useful updates about what their child is practising, enjoying and working towards.

####
Library bus and school connections

Children connect with the local community through library bus visits, school partnerships, emergency services experiences and access to the school dental program. These visits bring familiar community helpers, early literacy and practical health learning into the centre.

####
Fresh, wholesome meals served daily

Our centre cook prepares fresh meals and snacks five days a week, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. The menu includes a variety of foods, halal options and produce from the Harmony Garden where possible. Allergies and dietary requirements are catered for so each child can be safely included at mealtimes.

####
Family updates and daily essentials

Nappies, wipes and selected essentials are provided to help make daily routines easier for families. Educators stay in touch through everyday conversations and our family app, where families can see photos, routines and updates from their child’s day.

"A dedicated early childhood education setting provides children with stimulating environments and resources, as well as promoting social skills through interactions."

I began my career in early childhood education and care in 1984 and started working at Mooringe World of Learning in 1998. I've always had a passion for working with children, and I enjoy building relationships with them, their families, and the wider community. I believe a dedicated early childhood education setting provides children with stimulating environments and resources, as well as promoting social skills through interactions.
At Mooringe World of Learning, we personalise tours by calling each family beforehand to gather information, ensuring they feel welcome and enjoy the experience. We show families all rooms and outdoor spaces, share our centre’s history, and provide staff information. We assist with the enrolment process and offer orientation visits before care starts.
We constantly connect with families through our all-in-one family app, Xplor, as well as via posts, emails, phone calls, and face-to-face interactions. Our staff consistency and primary caregiving approach give parents a familiar contact person. We maintain an open-door policy and are always available to parents. We provide take-home meals, host special events, annual parent partnership meetings, and family Christmas celebrations.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Plympton early learning centre.

## Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Plympton, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

#### Sustainability

Children develop respect for the environment through gardening, recycling and nature-based learning. Educators also introduce the interconnected aspects of sustainability, including environmental, social and economic, through concepts like fairness, sharing and community.

#### Community engagement

We engage with the community by hosting the library bus fortnightly, where children can read and borrow books, and inviting emergency services to conduct educational talks and vehicle tours. We also collaborate with local schools and participate in the school dental program annually.

#### Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

#### Creative Arts

Children express ideas and make meaning using a range of creative experiences, including painting, drawing, drama, dance, storytelling, music and craft activities. These experiences encourage imagination, self-expression and confidence while supporting fine motor development.

Mooringe Child Care is an extension of our family. It has been a second home to our kids for many years. There is such a strong community and the staff are warm, welcoming and make Mooringe feel like home. They have played a very important part in our children’s development and have helped shape them into the beautiful, caring and adventurous children they are today. The staff at Mooringe have been there for many years and that in its self is true testament to the strength of their community and the dedication to their families. Mooringe staff thank for being my children’s home away from home. ❤️❤️❤️

Mooringe World of Learning has been an incredibly special part of our family’s journey. Our son has been here since he was just 7 months old, and over the years he has been surrounded by genuine care, patience, and kindness. As a sensitive child, watching him grow in confidence, feel safe, and form such meaningful bonds with his educators and friends has meant more to us than words can express.

We’ve loved the close-to-home location, the thoughtful variety of meals cooked on site with a weekly updated menu, and the kindergarten program that allowed him to stay in the same loving environment right up until starting primary school. Saying goodbye is bittersweet — we will truly miss the educators who have been such an important part of our son’s early years, and we will always be grateful for the love and care they’ve given our family. ❤️

We want to express our deepest appreciation to Mooringe World Learning and the amazing team who have cared for our boys. From the beginning, the staff have shown genuine warmth, professionalism, and a level of dedication that truly stands out. Our children always felt safe, supported and welcomed. The educators not just teaching, but nuturing, comforting, and guiding them with patience and kindness. Watching our boys grow in confidence and happiness here has meant so much to us as parents. You can feel the love and commitment from the staff everyday. Knowing our boys were in such caring hands gave us great peace of mind, and we are incredibly grateful for the positive impact they have had on their early years. Thank you to the entire team for everything you do. Your work truly makes a difference, and our family will always remember the support and warmth you gave our boys.

## Frequently asked questions

##

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. [Click here to book a tour online.](/book-a-tour)

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

##

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

[Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.](/family-information/how-to-enrol)

##

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

[Learn more about our Settling-in Program.](/family-information/settling-in-program)

##

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

##

World of Learning uses Xplor Home as our [family communication app](/family-information/family-communication). It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

##

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, World of Learning is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
