26 years with our centre

"I believe that giving children knowledge while they are young empowers them to change the world."

I started working in early learning in 2000. My passion for being around children started when I was about 10 years old, and I've known ever since that early education was the job for me. Throughout my career, I've learned that children absorb everything like sponges. Our role is to teach them and give them the very best start in life. Understanding that children are highly intelligent, I challenge them, encourage risky play, and integrate them into our wider community every day. My approach is to understand each child's individual personality and needs, build a relationship, and guide them on their learning journey. I believe that giving children knowledge while they are young empowers them to change the world.
I often explain to families that children learn best with their peers. Our centre offers opportunities for children to grow alongside friends while learning about literacy, STEM, the environment, geography, and different cultures. They learn to share, engage in various activities, and gain experiences that are hard to replicate at home.
My team consists of long-serving educators who share a passion for our profession and dedication to the children. They do their very best every day, and I am proud of each of them. To support our families, I work different shifts to greet them in the morning and say goodnight in the evening. I am always available in person, on the phone, or via email. This approach has resulted in many wonderful friendships and families staying with us for years.
I look forward to welcoming your family to our Chelsea early education and kindergarten centre.

## Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Chelsea, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

#### Sustainability

We have a thriving vegetable garden where children plant, water, and harvest produce for cooking. We also have a worm farm for composting daily scraps. We incorporate recycling materials into play experiences and observe Earth Hour daily by turning off lights and powered items for an hour.

#### Community engagement

We actively engage with the community through fortnightly aged care visits, library trips, and bi-weekly beach and bush kinder sessions. We also go on community walks and regularly visit local supermarkets and parks. We welcome various community services into the centre as incursions.

#### Independence and life skills

Children develop autonomy, interdependence, resilience and a sense of agency through meaningful participation in everyday routines, such as preparing snack, caring for plants, and tidying shared spaces.

#### Language and early literacy

Children develop early literacy through storytelling, books, songs and meaningful conversations. Educators support children to explore language in many forms, including speaking, listening, viewing, drawing and writing, while building confidence communicating with others.

World of Learning has been our kinder and daycare centre for the past 9 years. I have had two children in attendance during this time.
I highly recommend this centre, my girls have developed into confident, happy, emotionally secured little people under the care of the team at World of Learning.
Dropping off your baby on their first day of care is not easy, but the ladies at WOL 1 were so amazing, helping me with the transition but also assisting both of my girls with their own individual challenges along the way.
I also cannot speak more highly of the kinder program within WOL2. The teachers Dani and Lee are so wonderful with the children. Teaching beyond the kinder curriculum and absolutely preparing my girls for the expectations of primary school. Their passion and dedication for their jobs flows through everything they do and the children reap the benefits.
Both of the centre managers in Ash and Gina have supported me and my family with extra days / changing days and various other “I need help” requirements over our 9 year journey.
We looked at a number of daycare/ kinder centres for our girls but WOL was the stand out and I am so grateful and happy that my girls had such a wonderful experience.
The WOL team have felt like an extension of our family and if you are lucky enough to snaffle a placement … know that you have found a wonderful, supportive and safe environment for your mini human to thrive!

I am absolutely thrilled with my decision to enroll my two daughters at Chelsea World of Learning 2. After a disappointing experience at another childcare center, I was searching for a place that could truly provide a nurturing and educational environment for my children, and I've found that and more at Chelsea World of Learning 2.

From the moment we walked in, the staff's friendliness and warmth put me at ease. It's evident that they genuinely care about the well-being and development of every child. My daughters have formed a strong bond with their teachers, and it warms my heart to see how much they enjoy going to school each day.

One aspect that really sets this center apart is the attention they pay to nutrition. The well-balanced meals provided to the children not only ensure their physical health but also contribute to their overall growth. As a parent, knowing that my children are receiving nutritious meals is a huge relief.

The facility itself is outstanding. It's well-equipped, safe, and designed to foster a stimulating learning environment. Every corner seems to be thoughtfully planned to encourage exploration and creativity.

In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend Chelsea World of Learning 2 to any parent seeking an exceptional childcare experience. The positive impact it has had on my daughters' development is immeasurable, and I am grateful to the dedicated staff for their hard work and dedication. This center has truly exceeded my expectations in every way possible.

The team are absolutely amazing. We moved childcare centres about 2 years ago when we moved to Chelsea. Our child use to go into fits when we use to reach the previous childcare, we just thought there were separation issues, she was just over 2 years old and could not communicate clearly to let us know. When we moved to Chelsea and changed to WOL, the tantrums stopped. One will pop up every now and then, however I couldn't imagine that being outside normal. When we pick her up, we get a rundown on how her day was, what she was up too and who she was playing with. All the staff are so friendly and nice. Dani, Lucy, Georgina, Eileen, Hang and the entire team are awesome.

## Frequently asked questions

##

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. [Click here to book a tour online.](/book-a-tour)

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

##

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

[Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.](/family-information/how-to-enrol)

##

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

[Learn more about our Settling-in Program.](/family-information/settling-in-program)

##

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

##

World of Learning uses Xplor Home as our [family communication app](/family-information/family-communication). It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

##

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, World of Learning is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
