United in a love of learning at Victor Harbor World of Learning. Our early learning and long day care centre is in Victor Harbor, ideally located for families living or commuting through Victor Harbor or nearby suburbs Encounter Bay, Goolwa, Hayborough, McCracken and Middleton.
As you open the door to our centre, you will be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to explore, learn and grow. Our spacious outdoor environments include sandpits, slides and other exciting equipment which encourages children to discover and embrace their outdoor environment. We are incorporating a more natural Australian/Indigenous garden. Children are encouraged to explore the outdoor areas to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence.
Victor Harbor Early Education Centre has proudly received an Exceeding rating under the National Quality Standards. The National Quality Standard encompasses the 7 key quality areas that are important for children’s learning and development.
Our indoor spaces encourage exploration and discovery with engaging resources and learning experiences. Children marvel, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists and designers.
We provide healthy, freshly made meals created daily by our in-house cook catering for all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices.
Our educators and children explore our local community with walks in the local community and excursions to Urimbirra Wildlife Park and Farm Barn visits. We regularly present educational children’s shows and welcome special guests to the centre. Neighbourhood connections support a sense of belonging for children and offer opportunities to develop social and observational skills with various people and places.
No two days are the same at our center. Each year we offer a chicken hatching program which our Kindy Room are involved in.
Our educators and children explore our local community with farm animal visits, MFS visits, Fleurieu and Regional Waste Visits. Neighbourhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments.
We have a great sustainability program with many projects on the go to support us in working towards a sustainable future. We are big on recycling and reducing waste were possible, we take part in Earth hour each day reducing our lights and electricity usage. At the entrance space to our centre we have our worm farm and community vegetable garden. The vegetable garden is an area for intentional teaching and learning, but also a space our families can enjoy either each day or on a weekend where they can come and tend to the garden and pick their own veggies to take home. We also have our ‘grow free’ cart where we share what vegetables we produce, as well as families bringing vegetables to swap and share as well.
As members of our World of Learning community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years.
