United in a love of learning at Templestowe World of Learning. Our early learning and long day care centre is nestled in the heart of Lower Templestowe, ideally located for families living or commuting through Lower Templestowe or nearby suburbs Doncaster, Templestowe, Christmas Hills and Eltham.
Step into our centre and you will experience a sanctuary where children are inspired to explore and grow. Our spacious outdoor area includes a cubby house, sandpits, waterplay area, vegetable garden and other exciting play equipment for children to learn through play. Children are encouraged to explore the outdoor areas to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence.
We have long standing educators; some have been with us for 10 to 15 years. The centre has been awarded a grant from the department of education to run a bilingual kinder in which a second ECT is in place in the room. This is one of seven kindergartens in the whole of Victoria. The centre was awarded Business Excellence in 2018 with the Manningham City Council for its community connections and range of experiences on offer to the children. The centre continues to be awarded 5-star food safety excellence with the Manningham council for its cultural and nutritious food cooked by our chefs.
Our indoor spaces encourage exploration and discovery with engaging resources and learning experiences. Children marvel, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists and designers.
Children enjoy healthy, freshly made meals created daily by our in-house chefs catering for all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices. Other opportunities include educators encouraging children to assist in selecting edible plants from our vegetable garden which are used in some of our meals.
A rotating schedule of specialised programs including sports, music, Chinese and French language classes. These programs are regularly available to your child to develop fundamental skills and enhance the daily program.
Educators and children venture out on excursions to our local community visiting schools and aged care facilities. We regularly present educational children’s shows and welcome special guests to the centre including a dentist, health professionals, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and preschool field officers to extend on the children’s learning. Community connections support a sense of belonging for children and offer opportunities to develop social and observational skills with various people and places.
Sustainability philosophy embedded at our centre teaching children to care for the environment. Children learn about sustainability practices through our vegetable garden while harvesting food, weeding, watering, and nurturing the environment.
As members of our World of Learning community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years.
