Centre Manager - San Marino World of Learning
"If I can provide opportunities for children to learn and encourage them to try, I am giving them stepping stones for success."
I have learnt that each child is different and unique. Hearing their stories, learning about their hopes, dreams, strength and abilities is exciting and is what guides me and my teaching style. If I can provide opportunities for children to learn and encourage them to try, I am giving them stepping stones for success.
I have work in early childhood for 20 year across all age groups starting as an educator then room leader and now Centre Manger. I have been a centre manager for 15years now. Growing up I have always wanted to work with children, it’s just something I knew I would always do. No matter where I went as child, you found me at the kids table or area playing interacting with children. Seeing children, laugh, smile, learn and grow has always been my passion.
We place a very high value on the relationships we form with our families. We make it a point to get to know our families and not just their children. Knowing mum, dad, grandma, aunty, siblings make San Marino World of Learning what it is and that is one if happy family. My door is always open to everyone that walks through our front door for a chat, whether it be about their child, fees, something regarding the centre or simply asking for dinner suggestions. Educators also form a strong bond with children and families. We do have focus carers that enables families to discuss in depth matters regarding their child’s development and needs. We communicate events and other important information through newsletter, emails and notice boards. Working in partnership with families is key to success.
There is nothing more rewarding then watching a child learn and grow.
