United in a love of learning at Mooringe World of Learning. Our early learning and long day care centre is nestled in the heart of Plympton, ideally located for families living or commuting through Plympton or nearby suburbs Glandore, Kurralta Park, North Plympton and Camden Park. We have a variety of public transport options near the centre going to the city and Glenelg.
When stepping into our child care centre, you will experience a haven where children explore, learn and grow. Our spacious outdoor environments include sandpits, a harmony garden and other exciting equipment which encourages children to discover and embrace their outdoor environment. Children are encouraged to explore the outdoor areas to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence.
At our centre, we have many long-standing staff in all rooms which provides continuity of care.
We also have a ‘harmony garden’ that is filled with assorted vegetables that the children have planted. This gives them a deeper knowledge and understanding of the process and where food comes from. The food from our garden is presented in our community market and used in our kitchen.
Our indoor spaces encourage exploration and discovery with engaging resources and learning experiences. Children marvel, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists and designers.
Nutritious meals created daily by our in-house cook catering for all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices. We also offer a take home meals service for the convenience of our busy families.
Our educators and children explore our local community with excursions to local schools and the nearby aged care facility. We regularly present educational children’s shows and welcome special guests including dentists and Urrbrae agricultural centre who bring animals to the centre to expand on the children’s learning. We work with two of the local schools in the area and have the community library bus visit our centre once a fortnight. We also have connections with the nature centre and have different animals visit the centre. Neighbourhood connections support a sense of belonging for children and offer opportunities to develop social and observational skills with various people and places.
As members of our World of Learning community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years.
