Meet the Centre Manager of Murray Bridge World of Learning
“The benefits of children being in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting is that their learning, skills and development are supported in a holistic way that ensures all children are given the opportunity to grow and develop into the best person they can be.”
I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2000 and started working at Murray Bridge World of Learning in 2015. I hold a Diploma in Children’s Service, Advance Diploma in Community Sector Management and a Diploma in Business and Leadership.
Throughout my time in the sector I have held various roles including educator, Assistant Centre Manager, Centre Manager and Assistance Area Manager for South Australia. I have never thought that I would do anything else but work with children. I have always been the person no matter where I am to engage with children and be part of whatever they are doing. My family call me the “baby whisper “as it is not unusual for me to have a baby or child in my arms if there is one around. Since having my own children it is not unusual also for me to have a house full of children.
Working in the Early Childhood sector, I love playing that special role in a child’s life while they are discovering the world around them and full of wonder.
I always explain to families that the benefits of children being in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting is that their learning, skills and development are support in a holistic way that ensures all children are given the opportunity to grow and develop into the best person they can be. The opportunity to enhance social and emotional skills, relationship building, and so on is endless. Throughout my career in the sector I have seen and been part of various changes and developments and it is with great pride that I can impart my experiences and knowledge to my team to enable them to become passionate and dedicated educators that focus on building strong connections with the children and their families. We hold integrity as our basis on all we do.
Our team mostly hold a Diploma in Early Childhood which means that we are professionally qualified to work in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector. We are fortunate enough to have a few educators that are bilingual which aides in the extension from home for some children. Our centre being part of a regional town adds to the fact that it is not uncommon for team members to know families that attend our centre. This helps when children first begin care and they see a familiar face and have someone they know.
As a team, we ensure that we all maintain health and safety standards as outlined in our policies and procedures. Child Protection is a prime focus for us as we believe that every child has the right to be safe and protected. This is reflected in our centre philosophy too.
Communication is the key to all we do. We value any communication from families and ensure we communicate equally back to them. We use several platforms for communication including our all in one family app - Xplor, email and signage in the centre.
We hold numerous celebrations throughout the year and encourage all families to attend. We have also held community market days with a community focus to not only bring our families together but also the community.
We pride ourselves on our tour and enrolment process. We will help you right from the beginning not matter if you have used care before or are new to the whole experience. We can offer support with applying for CCS (Child Care Subsidy). Our team will also offer support, tips and tricks to parents to assist any issues they might be experiencing.
Welcome to Murray Bridge World of Learning.
