Our centre is proud to have received Exceeding the National Quality Standard. The National Quality Standard encompasses the seven key quality areas that are important outcomes for children’s learning and development.

Set in the leafy suburb, we have established connections with Colonel Light Gardens Primary School which helps children with the next step in their educational journey.

As soon as you enter doors of our Colonel Light Gardens child care centre, you’ll be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to explore and learn. Our adventure-filled playgrounds feature sandpits, natural gardens, vegetable gardens, mud kitchens and play equipment to engage all the senses.

Children are provided the time and space for uninterrupted play as they explore the outdoors to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.

Our indoor spaces invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.

There’s no need for you to worry about preparing lunch or snacks – our Colonel Light Gardens child care centre has this all organised for you. Nutritious meals are made daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements and we also provide with halal meals on request. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices.

There are new experiences to engage in every day at our Colonel Light Gardens child care centre. Your child will have access to engaging specialised programs, including a sport and music and movement program. These fun and engaging programs enhance the daily program.

Our educators and children venture out on excursions to other areas in the local colonel light community. We welcome special guests and community members to the centre based on the children's interests. We have a sports program at the Centre on a weekly basis and take regular walks around the community. We utilise families connections through work and have visits from the Fire Brigade, etc.

Our centre has a Calender of Events developed through consultation with families, incorporating celebrations that are important to them and their extended family. also celebrates regular cultural events reflecting the diversity in our local community. We run school holiday curriculum which is based on children’s interests. We also celebrate Book Week, NAIDOC week and Christmas.

The rooms all do an acknowledge of country on a daily basis as they teach the children about the land that we are on.

Neighbourhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments.

As members of our World of Learning community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years.
