Centre Manager - Patterson Lakes World of Learning
“I believe the learning benefits of attending a dedicated early childhood education and care centre is far reaching.”
My journey in early learning started when I decided to work as a Family Day care educator while my children were young. Once my own children grew I knew I was complete when working with children so continued in the field. Just changed from FDC to LDC.
I have a Diploma in Children’s Services, Diploma in Leadership and Management and Certificate 3 in Training and Assessment.
I believe the learning benefits of attending a dedicated early childhood education and care centre is far reaching. Research shows that ECE is one of the best ways to help children develop social, emotional and cognitive skills through daily routines, building healthy relationships and supporting their independence.
Children are amazing sponges they absorb so much in the early years. They have amazing imagination and teach us more than you realise. When they are particularly interested in something their little minds just open up even more.
I am passionate in providing a program developed around play based and intentional teaching moments in line with the EYLF. A curriculum that encourages and challenges children to develop their skills in a nurturing and safe environment.
To learn more or tour our centre, I will happily walk you and your family through our centre and share the current environments in both rooms. I’ll explain why we do what we do and how we plan for the current learning.
My child protection statement is - I will ensure a safe and secure environment for all children in my care and protect them from harm.
Many of our team members are parents themselves. We are also multicultural and many of us have been part of early childhood education for many years. We are all very warm and welcoming acknowledging each and every family member who comes to our centre. We value the uniqueness of each child and know they are all very individual. There is also a lot of respect and acknowledgement of the different beliefs and values families have.
Our team also consist of our pets- rabbit Hase (German for rabbit), blue tongue lizard- Paddington and our fish are yet to be named.
A tour of our centre begins with a warm welcome and then step by step tour explaining each learning area as we go through. The tour normally starts off with our customised Xplor app first and what you will receive once you download the app. I always offer to assist with the enrolment process and explain the role of the CET team.
In our entry area we offer coffee satchels and tea. Fresh fruit is always on offer when arriving and leaving for the day. Once inside there will be banana bread, or a fresh baked treat for the parents to enjoy on the way to work or for breakfast.
When settling new families, I will offer stay and play times. I tailor this to suit all the different individual needs. Some need more time others don’t. We also offer courtesy calls though out the day to let them know how their child is going, lots of photos also on Xplor.
We will also discuss the availability of our Parent TV and share ideas with the families.
I’m always super excited during the festive season and I am a huge sucker for a good Christmas movie.
We look forward to welcoming you.
