Centre Manager - Piper Central World of Learning (Bundaberg)
“A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart.” ~ Author Unknown
Hello, my name is Chrissy and I am the Centre Manager here at Piper Central World of Learning. I have been working as a childcare professional for over 20 years. I started work as a nanny caring for three young children. I always knew that caring for and educating young children was my passion.
I then decided to study a Nanny and Childcare course to extend on my knowledge. Throughout this time I continued working with children as a carer for full time workers. I then moved on to more study which lead to a full time position as a Group Leader and 2IC. After several years at this centre we made the move back to Bundaberg.
I then started as Group Leader for Piper Central for various ages. The centre was only six months old when I started my journey here. I completed the Diploma of Children’s Services and graduated as the `Diploma Student of the Year.’ After two years working as a Group Leader I then took on the challenge of the Assistant Centre Manager. I enjoyed working in the room as well as learning the ropes in the office. In this time I started studying the Advanced Diploma and completed it a year later. I worked in this role for another year and then took on the Director’s role. I enjoy furthering my skills and I am currently studying a Diploma in Leadership and Management.
I am fond of my children, staff and families and find my role as Centre Manager very rewarding. I am proud to have a great team at Piper Central and a wonderful modern centre. It is such a wonderful thing to watch the children grow from babies to little people with their own personalities and then to move onto school. Our reward at the end of the day is to see the children happy and enjoying their day here at Piper Central, the fun and the laughter is music throughout the centre each and every day.
Come and join us for the fun and learning.
