Centre Manager - Clontarf World of Learning
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” ~ Dr Seuss
I have learnt that every child is an individual and needs to be treated as such. Each family has different expectations and everyone parents differently. We need to respect everyone and be supportive. Each day is different, so you need to be ready to adapt and give every child your best.
I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of different settings. I spent time in the U.K as a private nanny for a Sir and Lady which was very exciting. I have also worked in daycare settings in both the U.K and Australia which gives me the knowledge of different countries and expectations.
Each day I am learning and developing skills to help support my team, children and families.
I love being a support network for families, it's amazing bringing my knowledge of motherhood, early childhood education and local community together.
I want to nurture all children and give then the same opportunities to thrive. I love watching children enter on their first day and watch then grow and develop relationships with the team. It’s an honour to watch them grow and learn new skills.
I always talk about building relationships with peers, the opportunities to grow in a new and challenging environment. I encourage parents to stay and play so they can watch their children settle. Childcare offers children a broader range of learning with equipment that may not be available at home. We link to the community which helps with every child’s sense of belonging.
We have long-serving team members who reflect our local community. Many have been with the centre over 8 years. It’s a small centre where everyone knows all the children, no matter which room they are in. We are such a close-knit team it feels like one big family.
My team are so committed and positive about their role as educators. The whole team sees their role as incredibly important, helping children establish the building blocks for a successful lifetime of learning. They have a wealth of knowledge and support each other so we can get the best from each other everyday.
